Compassion 2

Dear Friends and Partners,

When we think of "making disciples of all nations," it's easy to envision missionaries in far-off places. However, I believe Jesus meant something more accessible: "...as we go..." make disciples wherever we are placed by God.

This principle guides our Compassion ministries at Frontline. We follow in Jesus' footsteps:

  • “Healing the Sick”: Just as Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law, we bring Christ's compassionate care to hospitals and homes. “And when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16 That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.” (Matt 8:14-16)
  • Feeding the Hungry: Like Jesus, we have compassion for those who hunger, and provide meals for them in our feeding programs. “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. 3 And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way. And some of them have come from far away." (Mark 8:2-3)
  • Rescuing the Needy: We heed the call to give justice and rescue the weak and needy. “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."(Ps 82:3-4)

Meet Alden, a young child abandoned by his mother. His age and birthdate are uncertain, but we believe he is about 10 years old. All he knows about his birthday was that he was born during the “santol” fruit season. He can hardly read nor write, but we're here to support him.

Meet Gladys, Donnie, and Rachelle. These youths faced situations similar to Alden's. Recently, they have successfully completed their formal education at FCA and are now in Grade 11 at various San Pablo schools. Gladys even earned a sports scholarship for her volleyball skills.

These are our success stories. "As we go," we extend Christ's compassion and witness His grace and mercy in action.

You are vital partners in this mission of COMPASSION… the GREAT COMMISSION. May God bless you abundantly.
